Submission Requirements

We are committed to an author-first approach. Please review the following guidelines before submitting your work.

Query Letter Requirements

Your query letter should be included in the body of your email. It must include:

  • A professional greeting and tone

  • Book title, genre, and word count

  • A brief synopsis (the type of summary you’d include on the back of the book)

  • Comp titles (books similar in theme, tone, or audience)

  • A short author bio

  • An explanation of why you believe your book is a good fit for Bloodbound Books Publishing.

What to Attach

Please attach the following in Word doc, PDF, or Google Docs format:

  • Your first chapter

  • Your last chapter

  • The chapter you consider your strongest (your best or your favorite)

Please only submit one book at a time.

Time Frame

  • 6–8 weeks for our team to review your query package.

    • It may be shorter, but please do not follow up unless more than 8 weeks have passed.

    • If you do nudge us, reply to your original email thread.

    • Do not resubmit the same project multiple times.

  • 8–12 weeks for a full manuscript review (if requested).

    • Could be sooner, but the same follow-up guidelines apply.

Manuscript Requirements

  • Minimum word count: 45,000 words

  • No maximum word count

  • Manuscript must be complete before submitting

  • Only submit work that you feel is fully revised and ready for publishing

Accepted Genres

We specialize in darker, emotionally intense, and gripping fiction, including:

  • Fantasy

  • Dark Fantasy

  • Romantasy

  • Thrillers

  • Horror

  • Dark Romance

  • Country / Cowboy Romance

  • (We currently do not accept young adult, Poetry, Novellas, children’s books, or traditional/light romance.)
